The mission of the Escambia County Alabama Transit System is to service the citizens of Escambia County Alabama by providing transportation to all, especially the elderly and the handicapped. ECATS was established in 1995 and since that time we have been on a mission to make the Escambia County Alabama Transit System a program that the County can be proud of by making it financially sound, keeping the equipment in order and most of all serving the transportation needs of Escambia County.

We recognize that mobility is an essential need for our community to maintain a high quality of life. ECATS. staff strives to provide safe and customer-friendly service in a manner consistent with our stewardship of the communities. trust and resources.

General Description of Service Area

General description of the service area, including the geographic location and delineating geographic boundaries:

  • Area to be serviced is Escambia County in Southwest Alabama

ECATS Office Hours 8:00am - 4:00pm
Area on Aging - This route covers the elderly that attend the Sail Site
Monday through Friday from 8:00am - 2:00pm

All routes are Monday through Friday
Brewton & Atmore Dialysis - Start  6:00 a.m. to 1:30pm
Brewton Southwest Alabama Health Behavioral Center - Start 7:30am to 1:30pm
Brewton & Atmore Local: This route begins at 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
This a demand response route that goes from curb to curb.
Clients must call 24 hours in advance to schedule service.
It begins at 8:00am - 3:00pm and covers all of Escambia County.

Flomaton Area: Local and demand response is available when needed.
